Adverse Aspects of Smoking

Smoking has an adverse effect on ones health. These effects are classified into three major aspects, circumstances of smoking, means of smoking, and consumption of tobacco. Tobacco consumption is proofed to be the primary cause of heart and lung diseases, leading to preventable deaths. These diseases are as a result of high content of tar in the tobacco made cigarettes. The high level dosage of tobacco also results to hypertension and other vascular related diseases (Sloan et al 73).Advertising We will write a custom essay sample on Adverse Aspects of Smoking specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More This action of smoking should be stopped as it has led to many preventable deaths. Research from the World Health Organization that was done in 2005 shows that, 5.4 million people died from smoking. The tobacco smoke contains carcinogenic pyrolytic contents that regularly affect the DNA leading to genetic mutations. These carcinogenic contents are more than twenty that are consumed when one is smoking. Tobacco smoke is also found to have some nicotine. This is an active chemical with both physical and psychological effects (Sloan et al 180). Nicotine addiction makes the victim to be like a slave, thus a person cannot perform his daily duties without first consuming nicotine. Physically the victim looks sick and weary when he has not taken nicotine. The worst of all smoking adverse effects, is to the pregnant mothers. Tobacco smoking has proofed to cause miscarriages if a mother is a smoker. Incase a mother is clinically saved from miscarriage; there are still higher chances of the fetus to suffer from health problems. The innocent unborn baby may be born prematurely towards the end of the nine months period, or may be born being underweight. Sometimes the baby may be lucky to survive in the womb throughout the nine months period, but increased chances of sudden Infant Death Syndrome are experienced. Mothers who smoke sho uld be sensitive enough during pregnancy, as the unborn babies have their rights to be born and enjoy their lives like other human beings. Some research done have shown that, cigarette smoke gets into the womb and causes an adverse effect on the growing fetus’ brain. In several cases, it has been a very a shameful incidence where male smokers have been diagnosed to be impotent. A man having an Erectile Dysfunction not because he is biologically abnormal but because of smoking is disheartening as it can be avoided through stopping tobacco smoking (Britton 19).Advertising Looking for essay on health medicine? This has been caused through many people suffering from cancer and stimulation of adrenaline release that is a major cause of high blood pressure, and increased heart rates. Any form of smoking h as proofed to be the major cause of health damage of the most productive people in the world. Most of the teenagers who are smokers have shown signs of depression than those who don’t smoke (Britton 31). The decision-making process of the teenage smokers is slow compared to the non-smokers. The brains ability of the smokers is deterred; hence why most of them loose their jobs others commit serious crimes ending up in jail. Moreover, smoking causes a certain percentage of fire deaths while smokers are also at an increased danger of injury related deaths due to high chances of road accident. The habit of smoking can be prevented through the efforts of the victim. As smoking has proofed to be harmful to ones health efforts of stopping it should be made. Victims who want to stop smoking should come up with a plan of actions. This should be a combined effort for different peoples such as medics, friends and relatives of the victim, and if possible a counselor. Over the counter pre scription should also be included and other ways of dealing with stress (Allen 94). Smokers who have used medications to help them quit have succeeded as this reduces craving. Smokers should keep away from places that may cause them to feel the urge to light one. The places that should be avoided are nightclubs and the cigarette lighters should be thrown away. Before any smoker takes a step of quitting smoking, he must have a personal desire to quit and learn deeply about the adverse effects of smoking. This helps to prepare both the mind and the body f the smoker. A determined smoker should have his reasons to quit. A sincere list of both likes and dislikes of smoking should be written down. This is done before starting the actual process. (Allen 103). Consulting his friends and family members about the things they also dislike about him smoking would help. If the list on the positive side is longer than that of the negative side, then the smoker is ready to quit.Advertising W e will write a custom essay sample on Adverse Aspects of Smoking specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More The smoker who is ready to quit is advised also to make another list of the challenges he will encounter in the process of quitting. For him to succeed, he should give the possible solutions to those challenges. Application of those solutions will be the final step to quitting. Works Cited Allen, Carr. 10 College Project Topics on Computer Science

10 College Project Topics on Computer Science If you need   some information on computer science for your college project, consider these 10 fun facts below: There is a persistent problem with staffing and retaining IT employees and, although there have been studies that have looked at IT workers’ job motivation and attitudes toward their jobs, there has been little literature on key attributes of IT personnel which differs from other occupations. By understanding the key personality traits among IT workers and how these traits differentiated them from other professions, the results can inform a wide variety of organizational processes such as assessing IT candidates for job and organizational fit, recruitment, selection, placement, identifying training needs, career planning, counseling, and ongoing management. Today, the modern customer is changing not only how to look for products and services, but how they use them. Transformation over the last few years alone has resulted in an increase of customers focusing on geographically based searches for those companies nearest their location by way of geographical tags on their smartphones and wireless connections. Customers are turning to tablets and smartphones when shopping in lieu of physical spaces. Customers are demanding faster responses to inquiries and internet based options. Long gone are the days where companies can survive without a website, but now the continually changing customer has continually changing needs which require all businesses to focus more on internet-based service. Companies are turning with higher frequency to digital methods of marketing, advertising, and data mining. Data mining is used to collect customer information. Multiple companies utilize the collection of customer data to make predictions based on whether the customer is worth maintaining for the long term and how much money the customer will bring to the company on a regular basis. This type of data mining also stretches to include predictive measurements for behavior, especially with the focus on the target company and the pregnancy prediction analysis which they implemented (Berry Linoff, 1991; Han, Kamber, Pei, 2011; Laudon Lauden, 2010, p. 245). Directly in tandem with the data mining is the field of behavioral science, something which is used to determine the success rates of the various data mining related strategies. For example, behavioral studies determined that target customers did not appreciate the predictive pregnancy analyses, and they did not appreciate the pregnancy or baby related coupons which were sent to them. But when they assumed this was random and that their personal information has not been spy on they were much more willing to accept the coupons and to use them (Han, Kamber, Pei, 2011). It is by way of SAS statistical modeling software that companies are gathering the customer information especially information related to local trends, geographic location, habitual purchases, as well as personal details such as the number of children, marital status, and more.  Understanding habitual purchases by customers is also beneficial for all of the companies listed in the case study. It allows each of the organizations to determine which habitual purchases were made on a regular basis and which items individuals enjoyed. The items which are made on the eventual bases are things which do not relate directly to impulse purchases and as such having coupons or advertisements while shopping are not nearly as beneficial and investment (Berry Linoff, 1991; Han, Kamber, Pei, 2011; Laudon Lauden, 2010, p. 245). That being said the software can provide information specific to gift purchases or other impulse related by so that marketing efforts can be better coordinated and target ed to individual customers. This software also provides information as to which customers may require additional benefits such as bonus gift from the company in order to sustain that membership. These efforts of other companies to target their traditional marketing effort on this customers which will provide them with the most profitable lifetime memberships ((Berry Linoff, 1991; Han, Kamber, Pei, 2011; Laudon Lauden, 2010, p. 245). Information maintained by companies such as patient or customer data are typically maintained on cloud networks, so as to afford access to all necessary employees or customers/patients no matter where they are located (Berry Linoff, 1991; Han, Kamber, Pei, 2011; Laudon Lauden, 2010, p. 245). With so many companies turning to cloud computing and maintaining long term data, cyber security remains a serious concern, particularly as it relates to things such as data breaches. Regardless of where attacks originate, Internet users are at risk of victimization by professional hackers no matter where they live. This results in a significant loss of valuable information and identity information. By raising public awareness large-scale organizations can take the necessary steps to protect their users and their data while using the Internet. Increasing investment within IT professionals on staff can also help to offset the impact that the hacking economy is having. Some companies utilize inventory management online by tracking the quantity of every item which is maintained and triggering orders for out of stock items when the quantities drop below predetermined amount. The systems are often connected to point of sale systems which ensure that every time an item is sold one is removed from the turtle inventory count. This provides a closed information loop from every department. But in order for these systems to communicate with one another IT professionals must remain intact. Managing information systems must be done for data management. Today companies continue to maintain digital versions of all documents on a storage device or service. Once these documents are digitized they are instantly available to anyone in the company no matter where they are located. This means companies can store and maintain significant amounts of historical data available to all employees. But in order for this information to be the only protected from security threats but operational such the employees can access it from any location, IT staff must be on hand to immediately rectify any problems which arise and maintain optimal functionality at all times. Many progressive companies will use a management information system to track all of their sales data, their productivity levels, and every principle. This information can be used to track all profitability overtime, to maximize return on investment, and to identify areas which need improvement. Through such software managers contract sales on a regular basis which allows them to react immediately to lower than expected numbers by increasing productivity among employees or decreasing the cost of individual products. These management information systems have to be overseen by professional IT employees. Companies that use customer relationship management systems to capture customer data must also rely upon continually functioning interactions between customers, administration, and each of the technological systems. This is best done with the assistance of professional IT employees. In conclusion we hope these facts will give a boost towards confidently writing your assignment. Genetic Health information Critical thinking questions Assignment - 1

Genetic Health information Critical thinking questions - Assignment Example 4). The genetic code found in our DNA, has many potential insights for individual resistances and susceptibilities to diseases. The HGP is quite distinct from other biomedical research because it has been defined by a series of very quantifiable and concrete goals. For example, it has been used to construct physical and genetic maps. These maps have been used as vital research tools and have proved to be invaluable in determining more than 100 genes involved in diseases such as achondroplasia, breast cancer, colon cancer, and Huntington disease. HGP has simplified the human genetic code as well as animals and plants in a four-letter alphabet. These chemical constituents of each DNA molecule are A (adenine), C (cytosine), G (guanine) and T (thymine). The project has been able to explain that there are 23 pairs of chromosomes in each human cell, and each contains millions of these nucleotides. Through the project, it has been proved that there are 3 billion nucleotides. Studies on these chromosomes have been used clinically to explain to expectant mothers if they are going to give birth to a baby boy or girl. HGP has led to improved techniques of genetic screening for various diseases before birth. A genetic library has been created. This library contains genetic information of relatively homogeneous regions in human DNA. Therefore, individuals do not have considerable variability at this locus. If it is found out that a genetic disease is produced from a specific allele or mutation being present, screening can be done to identify who the individuals are. It is now possible to determine the chances that a child might inherit genetic disorders associated with parents by analyzing the parental gamete DNA. This has allowed genetic disorders to be corrected before birth. Research is also being carried on rapid selection and insertion of DNA into human individuals; these may soon lead to reproduction
